To kick off my travel posts I wanted to share an affordable and fun location. As we know, spring break is approaching and some of you are looking to book a trip. San Juan, Puerto Rico 🇵🇷 is the perfect spot for birthdays, couples retreat, or a quick weekend relaxation. If you are looking for activities to do or locations to explore swipe to the last slide!
San Juan has a vast collection of history and culture to indulge in. There are museums, nightclubs, and malls for the shop-a-holics. I personally try to shop local to help support small businesses. The food was so good! Puerto Rico is known for Mofongo so be sure to order a plate. 🇵🇷 Cayo Caribe is just off of the water and the food was 10/10’s across the board. I’d go back just for that restaurant.
*Prices for flights were based out of Atlanta and Philadelphia so it may vary for you. I suggest pre-booking activities! You can use Carabalì Rainforest Adventure Park (what I personally used) for majority of outdoor activities.

Beyond the initial excitement, planning a trip to San Juan really took off when I started diving into the amazing activities available! If you're anything like me, you're looking for that perfect mix of relaxation and adventure, and Puerto Rico delivers. For adrenaline junkies, you absolutely have to check out the adventure activities near El Yunque. I personally booked through Carabali Rainforest Adventure Park, and it was an absolute blast! Imagine cruising through the lush rainforest on an ATV or enjoying a serene horseback riding experience with the sounds of nature all around you. It's truly one of the most unforgettable things to do in Puerto Rico. They also offer go-karts and kayaking, so there's something for everyone. My tip? Book these tours in advance, especially during peak seasons like spring break, as they fill up fast! Wear comfortable clothes and shoes you don't mind getting a little muddy. Of course, no trip to San Juan is complete without exploring the charming San Juan Puerto Rico street experience. Old San Juan is a must-see, with its vibrant, colorful historic buildings and cobblestone streets. I spent hours just wandering, soaking in the history and snapping photos. Don't miss the historical sites like El Morro, which offers incredible ocean views. And for beach lovers, there are plenty of beautiful spots to relax and soak up the sun. I loved finding quiet little coves, but there are also lively beaches if that's more your vibe. Let's talk food! I tried so many delicious dishes, but Mofongo was my absolute favorite. The article mentioned Cayo Caribe, and I can second that recommendation – their Mofongo with shrimp was divine! But if you're looking for other culinary delights, the OCR results highlighted places like Tostados Cafe, Melanzana, Ola Ocean Front Bistro, and Bebos Cafe. I heard great things about Ola Ocean Front Bistro for a fancier meal with a view, and Tostados Cafe is perfect for a casual breakfast. Supporting local businesses while trying authentic cuisine is always a win-win in my book! Finally, a quick note on budgeting. I found that a 5-day stay in San Juan can be quite affordable if you plan ahead. Based on what I saw, costs for flights, hotel, and daily transportation can vary, so definitely compare prices. Pre-booking activities can also sometimes save you a few bucks. Remember to be respectful of the local culture and customs – a little Spanish goes a long way, and a friendly '¡Hola!' is always appreciated!
