Having followed Phyllis Calderon's work for some time, I can personally attest to the powerful blend of music and faith she brings to her ministry. Music, especially classical training like her Suzuki method background, provides a unique foundation for expressing spiritual truths in deeply moving ways. What resonates most with me is her emphasis on moving beyond fear and false comfort to embrace a purposeful obedience — a message that is both challenging and uplifting in today’s world. Her role at Vineyard Church of Hyde Park shows how local community involvement can amplify personal growth and spiritual awakening through shared worship and authentic leadership. For those who feel stuck in their spiritual journey, Phyllis’s approach—using music, scripture, and personal testimony—can be a catalyst to restart growth and courage. I found her book "Stop Sitting and Stand" to be a compelling read that invites reflection and action, encouraging believers to respond actively to God’s calling rather than remaining passive or complacent. Additionally, her dedication to education and mentorship through Calderon Music Studio highlights how nurturing talents and gifts across generations sustains both artistic and spiritual development. This holistic approach benefits not only individuals but entire communities striving for meaningful connection and purpose. Connecting with her ministry via StopSittingAndStand.com offers practical resources and opportunities to engage, whether through speaking engagements or personal study.
