Asking A Random Person Questions 😎#streetinterview
After chatting with folks on the street for my latest street interview, I've really been reflecting on the incredible wisdom you can find in everyday conversations. It got me thinking about how we approach any kind of 'interview' – whether it's a formal job interview or just a spontaneous chat with a stranger. So many of the questions I asked, and the answers I received, actually hold valuable lessons that can apply to a broader context, including how we present ourselves and our life experiences. The Art of Answering 'How Do You Make a Difference?' One question that always resonates with me is, 'how do you make a difference in the world?' It’s so easy to think of grand gestures, but as one person put it, it's often about 'treating people better better each day.' This simple answer is profound! It's about kindness, empathy, and respect. In any interview situation, whether it's for a job or just getting to know someone, demonstrating how you positively impact those around you, even in small ways, speaks volumes about your character and values. It’s not just about what you achieve, but how you interact with the world and the people in it. Think about the small actions you take daily that ripple out and create a positive change. Navigating Tough Days and Challenges: 'Just Keep Going' Life isn't always sunshine, and we all 'gonna have bad days.' I asked for advice for 'who's depression or just like not having a good day,' and the response, 'just keep just keep going,' was so powerful. We all experience 'those dark times,' and the resilience to push through is incredibly important. When you do power through, 'it's worth it.' This translates brilliantly into any challenging situation. Learning to articulate how you’ve faced difficulties, learned from them, and kept moving forward is a key skill. It shows growth, determination, and a positive mindset, qualities valued in every aspect of life and certainly in professional settings. It’s about sharing your personal journey of overcoming, not just highlighting your successes. What Truly Motivates You? Finding Your Daily Joy 'What's something you look forward to waking up every day?' This question often gets the most authentic and heartwarming answers. For one person, it was 'hanging out with my wife my cat yeah.' For another, it was 'getting on the sun a little bit' and the excitement of a 'got a new job.' These answers highlight the importance of personal joy and connection. In interviews, being able to genuinely express what motivates you, what brings you happiness, and what you’re passionate about (even outside of work) can make you stand out. It shows you’re a well-rounded individual with a zest for life, not just someone focused solely on tasks. My personal experience has always shown that sharing these authentic moments helps forge a real connection. Real Talk on Career Paths: The PT Perspective When I asked for 'advice you can who wants to become a physical' therapist, the honesty was striking: 'the PT is not the PT is not very good right now.' This kind of candid insight is invaluable. It reminds us that every career path has its ups and downs, and it's essential to do your research and understand the realities. For anyone considering a new career or job, seeking out honest, unfiltered perspectives from those in the field is crucial. It’s not just about the shiny exterior but also understanding the challenges and evolving landscapes. This kind of research helps you make informed decisions and shows preparedness, whether you're embarking on a new professional journey or simply exploring possibilities.
