A lot has changed for me in the last 5 years. I became a stay at home wife, then a mother, and went through some toxic situations with family that I had to distance myself from. I’ve spent so much time and energy trying to heal, as well as find my purpose outside of motherhood over the past few years, but nothing has ever landed which has made me feel pretty worthless at times. I used to be someone who knew what my talents were, went after my goals with confidence, and always succeeded, but somehow I’ve lost that side of myself amidst becoming a caretaker for others and trying to please everyone else.
I’ve been separated from my husband for 8 months, which has been hard, but I’ve also gained a lot of independence from that and realized that I’m stronger and much more capable than I thought. I made my first big adult purchase and bought myself a new-to-me car for my 27th birthday last year, which felt incredible! But then I found myself in another toxic situation with my brother and I had to move out of my childhood home, again…Ever since then I feel like I’ve lost momentum on my growth, but I’ve decided that I’m going to change that.
Traditional social media has never felt right to me, but I want gain more confidence in sharing my ideas, passions, and goals with others, as well as build an online community that I feel at ease posting to. I thought I’d give Lemon8 a try, so here I am. :)
