at home 3D mermaid nails 🧜🏽♀️🐚 & what products I used
These are my current set going on 2 weeks strong!! I started doing my nails during the panda 🐼 and I haven’t stopped.

・❥ These are Gel X nails, I used full covers. The set in the picture is only $14 right now. Everything I used needs UV/LED light to dry.
・❥ Nail prep is key to making them last 3-4 weeks like mine do. Bonus tip: prep the fake nail too by buffing the inside with an e-file. Make sure you dehydrate using acetone.
・❥ Color: I mixed the nude pictured, white and clear top coat to get the sheer pink.
・❥ 3D: I used the clear “glue” that came in the set to slowly build the shapes. I used a tiny paintbrush to draw the swirls then flash cure them with the small LED light that came in the set. Then I kept drawing the same shape on top of eachItem: other and curing until I got the design I wanted.
・❥ Decals: I used some little half pearls I got from Joann’s and tiny pearls gifted from a friend.

To achieve this with Gel-X, I'd suggest applying your base color, then using a sponge or a dedicated ombre brush to gently blend a lighter or darker shade from the cuticle towards the tip, or vice versa, creating a beautiful gradient. You can even use a sheer nude like the 'Mocha Mousse Cake' mentioned in some of my searches as your base, then sponge on a shimmering blue or green for a subtle, elegant mermaid fade. This technique works perfectly before applying your 3D art and pearl accents, adding another layer of depth. Many of you are also curious about soft sheer nails and nude nail extension designs. My current set uses a sheer pink, but for an even more understated elegance, a soft sheer white or a true nude gel polish is amazing. When I'm aiming for a subtle look, I often reach for my favorite Beetles Gel Nail Polish in a sheer beige or light pink. These colors are fantastic for elongating the nail bed, especially if you're using coffin-shaped nail tips for your Gel-X extensions. For a perfect nude extension, ensure your Gel-X tips are a good match for your natural nail bed color, or you can use a nude builder gel to sculpt a flawless base. And for those wondering about other eye-catching nail art gel techniques, the world is your oyster! While my focus here was 3D mermaid, you can apply similar principles to create flower nails design by building up petals with clear or colored gel. Just like with my mermaid swirls, tiny dabs and careful curing can create textured flowers that pop. For a classic yet chic finish, don't forget the timeless nail extension French design. This can easily be done with Gel-X by using a white gel polish for the tips, or even a soft sheer pink base with a metallic tip for a modern twist. The possibilities with gel nails are truly endless, allowing for everything from intricate gel mermaid nails to sleek, simple looks.
