So yeah..
My husband graduated this year from the MBA i was supposed to graduate from in 2021.
I started my online MBA in Accounting & Finance at UTPB in 2019 and was kicked out of the program, i was bummed out because even though the classes were easy what got me were the group projects.. i'm an introvert and back then i didn't feel confident with my english (i officially moved to the US in 2018). Also, i didn't know business terms so i had to look up every single word i didn't understand and that took a lot of time.
My husband started his online General MBA in 2020 and it was a bit shocking at first because he never seemed interested in doing one, i was a bit hurt too ngl. His end goal is Law School and he didn't seem interested when i once suggested that we should do an MBA together so we could be classmates.
It took me some time to get over this but i decided it was best to do a Bachelors in Accounting and Finance instead. My main goal was to have a stable job to finance my business ideas related to my Fashion Design degree so this would be better as if i did an MBA. With all the credits i have i can even try to become a CPA but i'm not sure i want to.
When we went to my husband's graduation ceremony old feelings resurfaced but it wasn't as bad as i thought it would be, in the end i had finally let go of what i thought i couldn't and it felt weird lol i was very happy for my husband thought, he looked cute in his cap and gown 🫶🏻✨️
My experience in higher education has been diverse, especially for those balancing life’s responsibilities with academic pursuits. As someone who faced challenges in group projects due to introversion and language barriers, I relate to many students tackling similar obstacles. The recent rise in online learning has provided opportunities for those who, like me, may not thrive in traditional classroom settings. In pursuing an MBA, I realized that educational paths are not one-size-fits-all. While initially disheartened by my husband's graduation from the program I had wished to complete, I learned to channel my aspirations into a Bachelor's in Accounting, aligning it with my long-term goals in fashion business. I also considered becoming a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), which reflects the need for adaptability in today’s job market. The journey of education is deeply personal and can often lead to unexpected paths. This journey is enriched by understanding that every challenge brings a lesson and opportunity for growth. In celebrating my husband's success, I embraced my own journey, proving that paths to fulfillment are diverse and uniquely tailored to individual aspirations.
