Hey everyone! You saw a glimpse of my prayer corner doodles, and I wanted to dive a little deeper into how this practice has absolutely transformed my spiritual walk. When life gets chaotic, I've found such profound peace and clarity by simply sitting down with my Bible and a blank page. It's more than just drawing; it's a beautiful, tangible way to engage with God's Word and let it really sink into my heart. For me, scripture doodling started as a way to slow down and truly meditate on verses. Instead of just reading, I began illustrating key phrases, writing out prayers, and jotting down reflections. It's like my personal conversation with God, right there on the page. I've learned, just as it says in Proverbs 4:25-27, to keep my eyes fixed forward on Him and not get distracted by the noise around me. This practice helps me do exactly that! You don't need to be an artist to start! Honestly, all you need is a simple notebook and a few pens. My pages aren't perfect, and that's totally okay – it's about the connection, not the masterpiece. I often start by picking a scripture that resonates with me that day. Sometimes it's a verse from Romans 12:2, reminding me about transformation, or passages from Nehemiah 1 and 2 about aligning with God's will and serving Him. I love writing out phrases like 'Walk w/Me O Lord' or 'God has given me a peace that makes no sense' and then just letting my pen flow with swirls, hearts, or simple borders. Another wonderful aspect is how it deepens my prayer life. I often write down my prayers, starting with 'Heavenly Father, guide us to keep our eyes focused...' and sometimes I even doodle the word 'Pray' in bold, decorated letters to really emphasize its importance. It's a reminder to continually seek Him. Reflecting on themes like 'Repent Your Sins!' or 'not holding back God's word' through drawing helps me internalize those messages and apply them to my daily life. It’s about conforming my life to His word, just like I learned from Dr. Jeff Schwarzentraub’s teachings I noted down. The benefits go beyond just creativity. It's a powerful tool for memorizing scripture and understanding it on a deeper level. When I write out a verse and then doodle around it, it becomes imprinted in my mind in a unique way. It's also incredibly therapeutic. In moments of doubt or stress, looking back at a page that says 'God has given me a peace that makes no sense' reminds me of His unwavering presence. This practice has truly helped me understand that God wants us to be great, and part of that greatness comes from His word. If you're looking for a new way to connect with your faith, I wholeheartedly encourage you to try scripture doodling. Don't worry about perfection; just open your heart, pick up a pen, and let God's word inspire you. You might be surprised at the peace and clarity you find!
