Day 1 in Key West, Florida 🏝️🍋🟩 #keywest #keywestflorida #travelvlog
Kickstarting my Day 1 in Key West, I knew I wanted to explore the iconic spots. First stop, naturally, was the Southernmost Point buoy for that classic photo op! From there, a leisurely stroll took me through the historic streets. I highly recommend visiting Ernest Hemingway's Home and Museum – it’s fascinating to see where he lived and wrote, plus the six-toed cats are a delight. Another great option for history buffs is the Harry S. Truman Little White House. By midday, hunger definitely strikes! For a truly authentic Key West experience, I always recommend grabbing lunch at a casual spot like Blue Heaven for their legendary Key Lime Pie (more on that later!) and a delicious sandwich, or trying a fresh seafood shack. Don't forget to stay hydrated, especially if you're exploring on foot. I often find myself needing a refreshing lime-flavored drink! The afternoon is perfect for diving deeper into the island's charm. Duval Street is a must-see for its vibrant atmosphere, shops, and galleries, but don't just stick to the main drag. Wander off onto the side streets to discover hidden gems. If you're feeling adventurous, consider a short boat trip or even a ferry excursion to a nearby sandbar – it's a fantastic way to see the island from a different perspective. For those who prefer a more relaxed pace, exploring the Historic Seaport area is wonderful, watching the boats come and go. As the sun begins to set, Mallory Square is the place to be. The Sunset Celebration is an unreal experience with street performers and a festive vibe. For dinner, making a reservation is key, especially if you have a specific restaurant in mind. I’ve heard amazing things about Latitudes, a truly special dining experience, though sometimes there's a waitlist. Key West has so many incredible eateries, from fine dining to casual, so you'll definitely find something to satisfy your cravings. And of course, no trip to Key West is complete without indulging in a slice (or two!) of authentic Key Lime Pie – it’s absolutely unreal how good it is! To make the most of your single day, I suggest planning your route efficiently. Walking is great for the historic district, but renting a bike or even a golf cart can help you cover more ground. Remember, it's an island, so embrace the relaxed pace, but don't be afraid to pack your day with adventure. Enjoy your perfect Day 1 in Key West!
