As fall comes to a close, we’re reminiscing about our trip to Stowe! 🍂🍁 #stowe #stowevermont #newenglandfall #fall
As the vibrant hues of autumn fade, I can't help but reminisce about our unforgettable trip to Stowe, Vermont. If you're dreaming of a quintessential New England fall, Stowe truly delivers! We were absolutely mesmerized by the sheer beauty of the fall foliage blanketing the mountainsides. One of the absolute highlights was exploring Stowe's famous covered bridges. Driving through the countryside, with every turn revealing another breathtaking vista of red, orange, and gold, felt like stepping into a postcard. We made sure to stop at the iconic Gold Brook Covered Bridge, also known as Emily's Bridge. It's not just a beautiful spot for photos but also has some fascinating local legends surrounding it! The way the deep red leaves framed the historic wooden structure was pure magic. We even discovered a few lesser-known gems, each offering its own unique charm and a perfect backdrop for our autumn photos. It's worth researching a few before you go or simply letting yourself get lost on the scenic backroads. Beyond the bridges, the town of Stowe itself is incredibly charming, especially during autumn. Imagine strolling down streets lined with vibrant red maple trees, the crisp air carrying the scent of woodsmoke and pumpkin spice. We spent an afternoon just cycling along a paved path, surrounded by a canopy of bright yellow and orange leaves – a truly invigorating experience! The quaint shops, local art galleries, and cozy cafes added to the idyllic atmosphere. We even spotted a beautiful white church with a steeple, perfectly nestled amidst the colorful valley, looking like something out of a painting – definitely a classic Vermont scene! For an unparalleled perspective of the fall colors, taking the gondola cars up Mount Mansfield is an absolute must-do. The panoramic views from the top, stretching across miles of uninterrupted fall foliage, were absolutely breathtaking. We saw couples standing on large rocks, soaking in the views, just like we did! It's an incredible way to appreciate the scale and intensity of Vermont's autumn splendor. Even looking down at the forest floor, scattered with fallen leaves and interesting rocks, offered its own unique beauty. The entire experience made us feel completely immersed in nature's artistry. When planning your trip to Stowe for fall foliage, aim for mid-October for peak colors, though it can vary slightly each year. Make sure to bring layers, as the weather can change quickly, and comfortable shoes for exploring trails and town. This trip truly cemented Stowe as one of our absolute favorite fall destinations, and we're already dreaming of our next visit!
