How i grew my nails
Hey! I'm not a nail tech but I do want to be and here's my explanation for these tips! Feel free to adjust to your life ☆
Start short: It’s harder to start length building on damaged nails so I recommend you start all the way over.
_
Builder gel: Builder gel is great for nails as it creates a durable shield, ideal for easily damaged nails. Since it's a gel it's fast curing and low maintenance!
_
Create an apex: An apex is a strong "arch" that acts as the nail's structural support when using builder gel. It absorbs pressure and prevents bends, cracks, and breaks, especially on longer nails by distributing stress evenly across the nail plate.
_
Be careful: You should be careful with natural nails to prevent damage like thinning, peeling, and infections, which often results from harsh chemicals, aggressive filing (especially during artificial nail removal), biting, or prolonged water exposure, all leading to weaker nails.
_
Oil your nails daily: Oiling nails is important because it deeply moisturizes the nail plate and cuticles, preventing dryness, brittleness, peeling, and breakage, while also promoting healthier, stronger growth by improving circulation and protecting against environmental damage from water and chemicals
_
File for smoothness not aesthetic: You should file your nails for smoothness primarily for strength, durability, and preventing snags/tears, not just looks; smooth edges seal the nail, reducing chipping and lifting, which supports nail health and helps polish last longer by creating an even surface.
_
Do not use your nails as tools, use your pads for most if not all things: You should not use your nails as tools because it causes damage like chipping, splitting, and painful tears, leading to weakened nails and potential injury to the nail bed, especially with enhancements; instead, using your fingertips (pads) or proper tools protects your nails
_
Eat healthier, Drink water, & Make sure you're not deficient in anything: Eating healthier, drinking water, and addressing nutrient deficiencies are crucial for nail growth because nails are made of protein (keratin), requiring consistent hydration and specific vitamins/minerals (like iron, zinc, biotin) from your diet to build strong, flexible, and fast-growing nails, while deficiencies lead to brittleness, breakage, and slow growth
_
Only grow if you want to: The most important step of them all! You should only grow nails if you want to because long nails only offer one benefit...looks! Excessively long nails can harbor dirt, bacteria, increase infection risk, catch on things, break easily, and become a nuisance, requiring careful hygiene and trimming to manage. Only grow nails if you truly want to.

There are beautiful. What kind of oil do you use?
