Solid foods!

A little late to posting this but baby boy is now eating solids! (His pediatrician gave us a thumbs up for it at his 4 month appointment) So far he loves sweet potatoes, pees and bananas! Here pretty soon he should be getting his first tooth 🥺

... Read moreStarting solid foods is an exciting milestone in your baby's development. After your pediatrician gives the green light, usually around 4 to 6 months, you can introduce nutrient-rich purees such as sweet potatoes, peas, and bananas—as in this case, where the baby seems to really enjoy these options. It’s important to observe your baby’s cues to ensure they are ready to swallow and digest solids comfortably. Sweet potatoes are an excellent first food option because they're naturally sweet, easy to digest, and packed with vitamins A and C. Peas provide essential plant-based protein and fiber, which support digestive health, while bananas are gentle on your baby's stomach and a good source of potassium. While starting solids, keep in mind that breast milk or formula remains the primary source of nutrition until your baby is around one year old. Introducing solids is more about familiarizing your baby with new flavors and textures. Offering a variety of pureed vegetables and fruits can help in developing healthy eating habits early on. It’s also helpful to monitor for any allergic reactions when introducing new foods and to consult your pediatrician if you notice any unusual symptoms. As your baby develops, you’ll notice new milestones like the appearance of the first tooth, which can influence how they handle different textures. Remember, every baby is unique, so patience and encouragement go a long way. Enjoy this special time as your little one explores new tastes and experiences that contribute to growth and development.
