From personal experience, one of the best ways to cope with high temperatures is to prioritize hydration. Drinking plenty of water throughout the day helps regulate your body temperature and prevents heat-related illnesses. Another helpful tip is to wear lightweight, loose-fitting clothing made of breathable fabrics like cotton or linen. These materials help wick away sweat and allow air to circulate, making a big difference in how hot you feel. If you have access to air conditioning, use it wisely to maintain a consistent, comfortable indoor temperature. When air conditioning isn’t available, fans combined with cross-ventilation can create a cooling breeze in your living space. It's also smart to limit outdoor activities during the hottest parts of the day, typically between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. If you need to be outside, try to stay in the shade and take frequent breaks to cool down, especially if you are exercising or doing physical labor. Finally, keep an eye on weather forecasts and heat alerts to prepare in advance. Taking these steps has helped me and many others stay safe and comfortable during heatwaves and hot summer days, even when it feels unbearably hot.
