Life Thoughts, Thursday - 5-21-26
Hi, Here’s a Life Thought.
People build confidence around complete understanding all the time. Certainty is easy. Truth is harder.
History teaches us that just because something feels convincing doesn’t make it correct. Humility protects learning. Arrogance protects ignorance.
Choose carefully.
As always, be nice, be safe, and laugh a lot!
Talk tomorrow.
If you find value in my videos or even if they just make you laugh or think, please share them. I want to reach as many people as I can. Thank you for watching.

One of the most important lessons I've learned over time is that building confidence shouldn't come from feeling certain about everything; rather, it should originate from a willingness to embrace uncertainty and keep learning. Throughout my personal journey, I've often encountered situations where my initial conviction was shaken by new evidence or perspectives. This taught me that feeling confident doesn't equate to possessing complete truth. In fact, certainty can sometimes be a trap that blocks our growth. When we cling too tightly to what we believe to be the absolute truth, we may become closed off to new ideas, turning arrogance into a barrier for genuine understanding. I recall a time when I was working on a team project and was so sure my approach was correct that I dismissed alternative viewpoints. It wasn't until I listened with humility that we found a solution better than any one of us had initially conceived. Moreover, history itself shows us countless examples where widely accepted beliefs were later disproven. This should remind us to stay humble and open-minded. Rather than striving for certainty, striving for truth means recognizing that truth can be complex and evolving. Choosing humility doesn’t mean lacking confidence; it means having the confidence to admit what you don’t know and the courage to learn. As the original thought suggests, humility protects learning. This mindset also encourages kindness and gratitude, as we realize everyone is on their own journey of understanding. In daily life, practicing this translates into being patient with ourselves and others, seeking to listen more than just speak, and embracing laughter and safety in our interactions. Sharing these reflections also motivates me to reach more people who might find comfort or inspiration in embracing this philosophy. If you take away one thing, let it be this: challenge your certainties, protect your humility, and watch how it transforms your life.
