Kitchen Countertop Edition

✨Lately, I've been really mindful about the things I bring into my kitchen. I love pieces that are both functional and beautiful-things that can double as home decor if I want them out on the countertop. Since I don't have a ton of storage space (especially for larger appliances) anything that has to stay out has to earn its spot. And if I ever need any larger appliances like a kitchen aid, tea kettle etc I would make sure they fit the neutral aesthetic I'm going for.

✨My cutting boards, junk bowl, espresso essentials, and utensil holder are all pieces I love to look at-they're beautiful but also functional. On the other hand, things like my NutriBullet, coffee grinder, toaster, and specifically rubber utensils all get tucked away.

Items like cutting boards can serve dual purposes: they are indispensable for food prep and can also enhance your kitchen's décor when displayed nicely. Wooden cutting boards with rich tones especially blend well with neutral or natural kitchen themes. Storage constraints demand a strategic approach to appliance placement. Larger appliances such as NutriBullets, coffee grinders, toasters, and rubber utensils are often better tucked away to maintain a clean and uncluttered look. Investing in a cohesive color palette—such as dark woods combined with stainless steel or chrome accents—can unify espresso setups or utensil holders, contributing to a stylish kitchen showroom feel. A popular tip is to prioritize items that you use frequently and enjoy looking at, allowing them to remain on the countertop. For example, a beautiful utensil holder containing wooden and stainless steel utensils can add texture and interest while being practical. Similarly, a well-chosen “junk bowl” for small items can be both functional and decorative. In kitchens with limited cabinetry or counter space, choosing multipurpose or aesthetically pleasing electrical appliances ensures everything you leave out complements your theme. Appliances or tools like a KitchenAid mixer or tea kettle should not only match the chosen neutral aesthetic but also deserve their spot based on use and visual appeal. Ultimately, the goal is a kitchen space that feels intentional and inviting. Carefully selected, functional kitchenware that doubles as décor can transform the countertop into a stylish extension of your home, making everyday cooking activities more enjoyable.
