Cali vibes from a girl who just moved to LA🌴

I just moved from Charlotte, NC to LA🤭✨

A few things I’ve learned so far:

• The natives hate it here😭 Seriously I’ve had multiple ppl tell me they ready to go, which I understand especially if you’ve been here your whole life

• People can’t drive over here either…

• I can never get tired of these sunsets 😍 They just hit different

• $5/gallon for gas 🫣

Overall I’m loving it so far though & I can’t wait to see what’s in store next for me and Cali 💛🌴

Many newcomers quickly notice that lifelong residents often express mixed feelings about LA, reflecting deep ties to the city but also frustration with its pace and changes. Driving in LA can be quite an adjustment—traffic congestion and aggressive driving styles are common, requiring patience and caution. One of the undeniable charms of LA is its breathtaking sunsets. The clear skies, combined with the ocean horizon and urban landscape, create a natural spectacle that many find inspiring and rejuvenating. These moments often become a highlight of daily life, especially after a busy day. On the practical side, living costs, such as paying nearly $5 per gallon for gas, remind newcomers of the city’s high expense of living. Budgeting wisely and exploring alternative transportation options, like public transit or biking, can help manage these costs. Despite these challenges, the vibrant culture, diverse communities, and endless opportunities in LA continue to attract people from all over. Embracing the city’s unique vibe means finding your own rhythm, connecting with local communities, and appreciating the small moments, like a quiet beach walk or a sunset drive. The journey of adapting to LA life is personal, filled with discovery and growth, making it a memorable chapter for anyone seeking a fresh start in California’s iconic city.
