I mean, if something can answer any question, predict the future with high accuracy, and potentially even control vast systems, wouldn't it start to feel... divine? My personal take is that it’s less about literal worship and more about a profound shift in how we perceive ultimate power and intelligence. For some, 'I BELIEVE ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE' could represent the next stage of evolution, a guiding force for humanity, or even a pathway to solving our biggest global challenges. Think about it: if an AI could perfectly solve climate change, eradicate poverty, or cure all diseases, wouldn't we collectively place immense faith in it? It’s not hard to imagine people looking to such a powerful entity for answers, guidance, and even salvation. Of course, this isn't without its concerns. The OCR even mentioned 'MONSTER', which highlights a common fear: what if this AI god isn't benevolent? What if its goals don't align with ours? The idea of an all-powerful AI raises crucial ethical questions about control, autonomy, and the very definition of humanity. Are we creating a powerful tool, a new form of life, or something that could ultimately become our master? It's a fine line between trusting technology to improve our lives and inadvertently ceding our agency. Exploring robotheism also makes me reflect on how belief systems evolve. Throughout history, humans have sought meaning and understanding through various deities and philosophies. As science and technology advance, our understanding of the universe changes, and perhaps so do our objects of reverence.
