Jesus saves

Reflecting on Romans 6:20-23, I’ve come to deeply appreciate the transformative power of choosing faith in Jesus Christ. These verses illustrate a powerful contrast: being enslaved to sin versus living in righteousness. I remember the time when I felt burdened by my mistakes and drifting away from purpose. Discovering the truth that Jesus saves by freeing us from sin’s wages—the death—and offering the gift of eternal life was truly life-changing. What struck me was how Paul refers to our former life as slavery to sin, implying a lack of freedom despite outward appearances. This idea resonated with me personally because it highlights how sin can control us internally without us realizing it. Yet, through Jesus Christ, believers become 'slaves to righteousness,' producing fruit leading to sanctification and ultimately eternal life. The concept of grace as a 'free gift' really changed my perspective. It’s not about earning salvation through works, but accepting what Jesus did on the cross. This gift brings peace and a new life in Him, which I’ve experienced as a deep sense of freedom and purpose. Moreover, the passage emphasizes obedience out of love for God, which feels less like a burden and more like a joyful response to His mercy. I also found practical encouragement in knowing that sanctification is a journey—it's about growing in holiness rather than instant perfection. The Holy Spirit helps believers progress daily, bearing the fruits of righteousness. This process has motivated me to live intentionally, seeking a closer relationship with God and allowing His transformative power to work through me. Studying these scriptures inspired me to share this message of hope with others who struggle with feelings of guilt or being trapped by their past. It reminds me that no matter our history, Jesus’ saving power is sufficient to renew us and grant eternal life, encouraging all believers to embrace this truth and live accordingly.
