I noticed this little bird working in my one inch plant hanging basket about a month ago. I took a look and sure enough she built a beautiful little nest.
After another week or so I noticed 5 eggs in the nest. They were light in color and speckled a reddish brown, from what I could see without disturbing the nest too much.
Then I stopped seeing the bird…
I would check the nest every so often but she was never in there and I didn’t notice her coming back for weeks. I was so sad and worried I had made her abandon her nest. Although I truly didn’t check the nest all that often, I did keep watering the plant as careful as I could…
Two days ago I noticed the bird coming back!
Today I went to water the plant and I hadn’t looked at the nest in over a week so I check it and wouldn’t you know! Baby birds 🥰 🐦
My mama always said birds building nests in your plants was good luck or finding a nest in your Christmas tree. 🥰 and although I’ve had plenty of nests found in my Christmas trees, I’ve never had a bird build a nest in my hanging baskets!
I can’t help but smile at the fact that I thought the mama bird abandoned her nest and eggs because of me and she didn’t just feels like a divine sign from my mama that mamas don’t ever leave their babies… even after they’re physically gone from this world. They always come back. They’re always around. Even if we can’t see them. 💛
