The reason for this wonderful perk is that these places are either US states (like Hawaii) or US territories (like Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands). This means they operate under US laws, use the US dollar, and for US citizens, travel is generally considered domestic. It's really convenient! Beyond the three fantastic spots I mentioned earlier (Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and the US Virgin Islands), you might be curious about other US territories. Yes, there are more! While they might be a bit further afield, they also offer passport-free travel for US citizens, opening up even more incredible options for adventure.
