Mini Brown Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies

I took my brown butter chocolate chip cookie and gave it a subtle upgrade. Made them mini, then finished each one with a pecan half pressed right into the center; similar to that classic butter pecan look.

Ingredients:

* 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter

* 1 cup brown sugar

* ½ cup granulated sugar

* 2 large eggs

* 1 tbsp vanilla extract

* 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour

* 1 tsp baking soda

* ½ tsp salt (optional if using salted butter)

* 1 ½ cups chocolate chips or chunks

* Pecan halves (for topping)

Instructions:

1. Brown the butter

In a saucepan over medium heat, melt butter and continue cooking until it turns golden brown and smells nutty. Let it cool slightly.

2. Mix wet ingredients

In a bowl, combine brown butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar. Mix until smooth. Add eggs and vanilla, then mix until fully combined.

3. Add dry ingredients

Stir in flour, baking soda, and salt. Mix until a soft dough forms. Fold in chocolate chips.

4. Chill (optional but recommended)

Let dough chill for at least 30 minutes for better flavor and texture.

5. Shape & top

Scoop small portions of dough (mini size), roll into balls, and place on baking sheet. Press a pecan half into the center of each cookie.

6. Bake

Bake at 350°F for 9–11 minutes or until edges are golden and centers are soft.

7. Cool slightly & enjoy

Let them set for a few minutes—they’ll continue to firm up while staying soft inside.

That brown butter base already carries so much depth, but the pecan adds just enough nuttiness and texture to balance it out. Simple tweak, completely different feel.
