Summer Hair, But Make It Botanical
Bringing this one back because the weather is finally getting nice here in the Pacific Northwest, and summer hair is about to need a little extra love.
I posted this Crown & Root blend about a year or so ago, but it deserves a fresh GARM’s Originals update. Sun, sweat, wind, dry ends, and scalp drama are all coming, because apparently hair cannot simply behave and let us live.
So here it is again, cleaned up, refreshed, and brought back to the front: a botanical hair-and-scalp tonic made to support healthy roots, softer strands, and a happier scalp this season.
This GARM’s Originals Crown & Root: Bloom & Bless Edition is a homemade botanical hair-and-scalp tonic made to support healthy roots, softer strands, and a calmer scalp. It brings together rosemary, clove, onion, turmeric, blackberry leaf, bay, avocado, castor oil, aloe, glycerin, and apple cider vinegar in one nourishing blend.
The goal is simple: soothe the scalp, support growth, strengthen the hair, and bring back shine without making it complicated. Rosemary, onion, and clove are included for root support. Turmeric, blackberry leaf, and bay help comfort a dry or irritated scalp. Avocado and castor oil help nourish and protect the hair, while aloe, glycerin, and apple cider vinegar help soften and balance everything out.
Use it before washing your hair, as a scalp massage treatment, or as an overnight oil if your hair and scalp tolerate it well. Shake it gently, apply a small amount to the scalp, massage it in, and let it sit for 20 to 30 minutes or longer before washing out.
This is one of those simple homemade things that feels special because it actually has a purpose. It is not about perfect hair. It is about taking care of the roots, feeding the scalp, and giving your hair a better chance to look and feel healthy this summer.
Patch test first, avoid your eyes, and stop using it if your skin gets irritated.
