Waterbury CT- Resident Leadership Training

I’m honored to volunteer as a facilitator for one of the workshops in the NEST CT_ Resident Leadership Training (RLT) Program. 📈

RLT isn’t about having all the answers. It’s about listening, growing, and learning how to turn care for your neighborhood into action.

Participants explore communication, leadership, advocacy, and action planning all while connecting with people who care deeply about Waterbury.

If you live in Waterbury and have ever thought, “I want to do more for my community, but I’m not sure where to start,” this program is for you.

📅 The program runs February–September, meeting once a month

🌱 Open to Waterbury residents from all walks of life

✨ Participants who complete the program may be eligible to attend an all-expenses-paid national conference

I’m proud to support this work and the residents who step into their leadership through RLT. As a RLT Alumni, I can tell you firsthand this program is worthwhile. 💡

Read moreAs someone who has participated in community leadership development programs, I can attest to how valuable structured training like the Resident Leadership Training (RLT) in Waterbury can be. This program not only teaches practical skills such as communication, advocacy, and strategic action planning, but it also fosters a supportive network of residents who share a passion for making a positive impact locally. What stood out to me about RLT is the emphasis on listening and growing together rather than expecting participants to have all the answers upfront. For waterbury residents wanting to get involved but unsure where to begin, this program provides a clear pathway from learning to tangible community action. Additionally, the eligibility to attend an all-expense-paid national conference after completing the program is a fantastic incentive. Conferences like these broaden your perspective by connecting you with grassroots leaders from across the country, inspiring new ideas and collaborations. From my experience, such leadership training becomes a catalyst for transforming neighborhood care into effective advocacy. It equips residents to confidently engage with local institutions and influence decisions that shape their communities. I highly recommend Waterbury residents take advantage of this opportunity to grow personally and create lasting community change.
