In reflecting on our tendency to interpret God through the lens of human behavior and societal norms, I’ve realized how crucial it is to cultivate a personal relationship with God rather than rely solely on others’ portrayals. Often, people unintentionally project their own biases or experiences onto their understanding of God, which can cloud the true essence of His character. One thing I’ve experienced is that knowing God's Word and being sensitive to the Holy Spirit’s guidance helps me discern the difference between divine truth and human agendas. For example, when I hear messages that promote limiting leadership roles based on gender, it immediately raises red flags within me because I understand that God's love and inclusiveness go beyond cultural restrictions. Another realization is how important it is to observe actions rather than just words—just like Jesus’ respectful and empowering treatment of women contradicted many societal expectations of His time. This example challenges us to reconsider assumptions we might carry about God based on flawed human behavior. I encourage others to engage directly with the Bible and embrace the gift of the Holy Spirit to develop a clearer, truer understanding of God. This direct connection fosters a discerning heart capable of recognizing when someone’s claims about God are driven by personal agendas instead of divine truth. Whenever I encounter such hypocrisy, I’ve learned to disengage gracefully as a form of self-preservation and respect for genuine faith. In essence, stepping beyond traditional human viewpoints allows us to experience God in a fresh, authentic way—one that is not limited by man’s imperfections but is grounded in His perfect love, justice, and mercy.
