Daily Devotional: Ready to Serve
Serving the Lord is not just about availability; it is about readiness of the heart. God is not searching for perfection, but for willingness.
A ready servant is one who says "yes" before knowing all the details, trusting that God will equip them for whatever He calls them to do.
Readiness requires surrender. It means laying aside our plans, our comfort, and sometimes even our understanding. It's choosing obedience over hesitation.
Many times, we delay serving because we feel unprepared; but God does not call the equipped, He equips the called.
Being ready also means staying spiritually alert. A heart that is in prayer, grounded in the Word, and sensitive to the Holy Spirit will recognize opportunities to serve.
Whether it's encouraging someone, meeting a need, or stepping into a new calling, readiness positions us to respond immediately when God prompts us.
Ask yourself: Am I truly available to God, or only when it's convenient?
Today, choose to surrender your plans and make yourself ready. Spend time in prayer and ask the Lord to align your heart with His will. Be attentive to opportunities to serve, big or small, and respond without hesitation.
A willing heart is a ready vessel, God will always use those who are prepared to say "yes."
"Also, I heard the voice of the Lord, saying: 'Whom shall I send, And who will go for Us?' Then I said, 'Here am I! Send me.'" - Isaiah 6:8
