Back to school Nail

It’s officially back-to-school season! 🍎✏️

And you know what that means… the nails have to come down a little. 😂💅🏽

Getting ready to be back around the Littles, which means shorter nails for all the hands-on learning, tying shoes, opening snacks, wiping tears, giving high-fives, and everything else that comes with loving on little learners. ❤️

Plus, with lesson plans, emails, IEPs, and plenty of typing ahead, these fingers need to be ready to WORK! 💻📚

I’ll miss my long nails, but Ms. Chase is getting back into teacher mode! 🍎@

... Read moreAs the back-to-school season approaches, I found myself reflecting on the practical side of nail care for educators. Balancing professionalism and functionality is key. Shorter nails have been a game-changer for me, especially when managing young students who need constant attention and care. It’s not just about appearance; shorter nails make everyday tasks like tying shoelaces, opening snack packs, and wiping little tears much easier and safer. When you're preparing lesson plans, answering countless emails, or updating IEPs, your hands do a lot of work, often involving fast typing and note-taking. Long nails can sometimes be uncomfortable or break under pressure, so trimming them down really made my work smoother and less distracting. Additionally, shorter nails reduce the risk of accidental scratches to children, which is important in creating a safe learning environment. Keeping them clean also becomes simpler, which adds to overall hygiene during flu seasons or outbreaks. For those who, like me, will miss the style and flair of long nails, there are creative ways to maintain neatness and expression through minimalistic nail polish or fun nail art that’s still practical. It’s about adapting to the needs of your role while retaining a bit of your personal style. Overall, embracing shorter nails during the back-to-school period has improved my daily routine and helped me stay organized and efficient. This small change contributed to feeling more prepared and present for my students during a busy and exciting season.
