With the left over crust you’re going to make the pie toppers. Get a small cookie cutter that has a fall shape and cut out your dough. Mix egg and water together and add it to your dough. Put in the oven at 350 for 10-12 minutes.
Once your pies are ready, you’re going to add your fall shaped crust to the top of the mini pies, and then they will be ready to enjoy!

Mini pies are a fantastic way to bring a personal touch to your Thanksgiving dessert table. Their bite-sized nature makes them an ideal treat for parties and large gatherings, allowing guests to indulge without feeling too full. Using pre-made pie crusts really speeds up the preparation, cutting down stress on the big day. When making these mini pies, it's important to use a mini cupcake pan to help each pie maintain its shape while baking at 350°F. This baking temperature and time (20-25 minutes for the pie filling and 10-12 minutes for the decorative crust toppers) allow the pies to cook evenly without burning the crust. Creating the topping with leftover dough and small cookie cutters shaped like leaves or pumpkins adds a charming seasonal touch that enhances presentation and flavor. Brushing a mixture of egg and water onto the crust gives the pies a beautiful golden finish, which really impresses your guests. To vary these mini pies, consider experimenting with other fall flavors like apple cinnamon or pecan fillings. You can also add a dollop of whipped cream or a sprinkle of cinnamon on top before serving for an extra-special treat. These mini pies perfectly blend convenience and tradition, making them a delightful and easy option for your Thanksgiving dessert lineup.
