... Read moreHey everyone! So, since I mentioned being a CNA in my intro, I've noticed some of you are curious about tattoos for females in the healthcare field. It's such a common topic, and honestly, policies vary a lot! Some places are super strict about visible tattoos, while others are more relaxed, especially if they're easily covered. From my experience as a CNA, I'd always recommend thinking about placement if you're just starting out or considering a new piece. Forearms are popular, but you might need to wear long sleeves. I've seen some incredible, meaningful tattoos on fellow healthcare workers – delicate stethoscopes, hearts intertwined with EKG lines, or even subtle symbols of strength and compassion. It’s a beautiful way to express your passion for caring for others while staying professional. If you're thinking of getting one, definitely check your workplace's guidelines first. But don't let it deter you from getting something that truly resonates with you! Maybe a small design on your wrist that can be covered by your watch, or something on your shoulder that's always hidden by your scrubs. What kind of healthcare-inspired tattoos have you seen or considered getting yourselves? I'd love to hear!
And speaking of my background, being Puerto Rican is a huge part of who I am, and I've seen questions about 'old Puerto Rican female names' pop up too! This always makes me smile because our culture is so rich with beautiful, historic names. My own name, for example, is a blend, but you’ll find many classic names like María, Carmen, Dolores, and Ana that have been cherished for generations on the island and in the diaspora. These names often carry deep cultural or religious significance, or are inspired by nature. They're not just labels; they're pieces of our heritage, connecting us to our ancestors and traditions. It's beautiful how families often pass down names, honoring beloved grandparents or significant figures. It’s a tradition that keeps our vibrant culture alive and strong. I've always loved hearing the stories behind my friends' and family's names. Do any of you have family names that have been passed down through your own heritage? It's fascinating how names can hold so much history and meaning.
Beyond my work and heritage, I also mentioned my love for travel and the beach! These two go hand-in-hand for me. There's nothing quite like exploring new places, whether it's a vibrant city or a secluded beach. As someone who's lived in Puerto Rico, the beach isn't just a place; it's a lifestyle. The feeling of the sand between your toes and the sound of the waves is incredibly therapeutic, especially after a long week of shifts. When I travel, I always seek out the local spots, the hidden gems, and of course, the best beaches! I believe combining my passion for caring as a CNA with my love for cultural exploration and relaxation by the ocean creates a really balanced life. It allows me to recharge and bring fresh energy to everything I do. I'm excited to share my travel tips, beach essentials, and maybe even some concert experiences from my next adventure. What are your favorite places to escape to when you need a break?
