Hey everyone! Wanted to share a deeper dive into one of my favorite recent days in NYC – a true A DAY OF WORKOUTS and delicious FOOD adventure that hit all my HEALTH goals, especially hitting those 10K steps! It was a perfect blend of pushing myself physically and indulging in some amazing treats across the city. For anyone curious about how I balance fitness with my love for good food, this recap is for you. My morning kicked off at Mile High Run Club, and let me tell you, I'm still buzzing from it! Instructor Lanoa was teaching today, and her class was killer. The playlist was pure fire, definitely need to run to Beyonce more often. Honestly, I'm so proud of myself for being consistent with running lately. Becoming a runner was nowhere in my 2025 plans, but here I am, pushing through and loving the progress. It just goes to show, you never know what new passions you'll discover when you step out of your comfort zone. After that high-energy run, I walked over to my Pilates class at Ballet Academy East. I don't go there often, but it's such a unique experience. Instructor Ashley leads classes with a super minimal vibe—no music, no lights, just us and the instructor. It's fast-paced and hard, especially if you're not already a Pilates pro, but in the best way. It really challenges your core and flexibility, and I always leave feeling stronger and more centered. Definitely a hidden gem for a serious Pilates workout. To refuel, I swung by Blank Street for my daily matcha. It's become such a regular stop that the cashier actually knows my name—which I secretly love! Then, I met up with my husband in Central Park for some soccer lessons with JC Assists. Fun fact: he used to play professionally in Europe, so he's an incredible coach. I'm trying to get decent enough to join some co-ed pickup games, but we'll see! It’s such a fun way to spend time together and get those extra steps in. Now, for the part where the "Big back behaviour" kicked in! After the park, we absolutely had to grab some ice cream at Sugar Hill Creamery in Harlem. Seriously, it’s the best ice cream, not up for debate. Their unique flavors are out of this world! To cap off our epic day, Jori was craving Jamaican food, so we hit up T&J Jamaican Flava, one of his favorites in Harlem. If you're in the area, you HAVE to try it out. We brought the food home, and I got the oxtail, Joel got the jerk chicken, and we shared a delicious fried dumpling. It was so worth every single calorie! This day truly embodied the perfect balance of fitness and indulgence. From high-intensity workouts like my Pilates class and run to exploring the vibrant food scene in Harlem, it was a reminder of all the amazing experiences NYC has to offer. I definitely got more than 10,000 steps, and my taste buds were just as happy as my muscles. If you wanna see more content like this, don't forget to like this post!
