... Read moreIt's a universal truth, isn't it? As a digital creator trying to capture a perfect moment, whether it's showing off a new outfit or just a cute selfie, the universe (or, in my case, my amazing kiddos) often has other, funnier plans. Frankly, getting a new 'mom fit' is a big deal around here. It's rare to shop for myself, so when I do, I want to capture that feeling of a fresh look. I envisioned a chic, serene shot, maybe with a sunflower filter to add a touch of whimsy, just like I enjoy adding 'Simple Life' and 'Enjoy every moment of my life' to my photos.
But then, in bursts the crew! One moment I'm posing, the next I have a little one making a puckered face right next to me, or another sticking out their tongue and giving a thumbs-up. It's hilarious, and honestly, often better than the planned shot! The camera just keeps snapping, capturing these raw, unscripted moments. Sometimes it’s a young girl with pink glasses, smiling widely and stealing the foreground, making my serious pose look utterly ridiculous in comparison. Other times, it’s a quick butterfly filter added to our cheeks, just embracing the playful chaos.
I often try to live by the motto, 'Simple Life' and 'Enjoy every moment of my life,' which I've even put on some of my pictures. And what's simpler, or more enjoyable, than the authentic, unfiltered chaos of family life? These funny photobombs aren't just ruined pictures; they're snapshots of genuine joy and personality. They are the blessings, the smiles, and pure love in action. Instead of getting frustrated, I've learned to embrace these funny photobombs. They truly are the latest trend in authentic content – showing the real, unvarnished life of a parent.
For any fellow parents or digital creators out there dealing with similar photo interruptions, here are a few things I’ve learned:
Keep Shooting! You might just capture a gem. The unexpected often makes for the most memorable and shareable content.
Incorporate Them. If your kids are going to be in the frame, make them part of the fun. Encourage their silly faces or funny poses. Sometimes, their antics, like sticking out a tongue, are exactly what makes a photo pop.
Embrace Playful Filters. Those sunflower, butterfly, or heart filters aren't just for decoration; they can enhance the joyful, lighthearted mood of a photobombed picture.
Accept Imperfection. Perfection is overrated, especially with kiddos around. These spontaneous moments are often far more precious than any perfectly posed shot.
Remember the 'Why'. Ultimately, these little humans are why we do what we do. Their presence, even in a photobomb, is a reminder of the love and joy they bring.
It's a reminder that truly enjoying every moment means accepting the beautiful mess. So, next time your kiddos decide to crash your photo shoot, just smile, maybe make a funny face back, and remember: these are the blessings, these are the smiles, and this is truly love.
