การเดินทางไปลาวใต้ขอบอกเลยว่าคุ้มค่ามากสำหรับคนที่ชอบเที่ยวธรรมชาติและอยากสัมผัสวิถีชีวิตแบบสงบเรียบง่ายของชุมชนที่นี่ จากประสบการณ์การเดินทางเอง ผมแนะนำว่าเตรียมเอกสารให้พร้อม โดยเฉพาะพาสปอร์ต อย่าลืมว่ามีการปั๊มเอกสารถึง 4 จุดระหว่างขาเข้าและขากลับ ทั้งออกจากไทย เข้า สปป.ลาว และกลับมาไทยอีกครั้ง ควรเตรียมเงินสดไปด้วยทั้งเงินบาทและกีบลาว เพราะที่นั่นยังคงนิยมใช้เงินสดมากกว่าบัตรเครดิต การนั่งรถไฟจากกรุงเทพฯ ถึงอุบลราชธานี เป็นตัวเลือกที่ดีถ้าชอบนั่งชมวิวตอนกลางคืนและประหยัดที่พักคืนหนึ่ง ค่าโดยสารไม่แพงด้วย และจากอุบลฯ ต่อรถตู้ไปช่องเม็กและปากเซก็สะดวกมาก เท่าที่เจอคนขับใจดีและมีมิตเตอร์ราคาชัดเจน ในส่วนที่พัก สถานที่ที่เลือกอย่าง Sabaidee Valley Resort Paksong และ Intouch Riverside Hotel ที่ปากเซ ตอบโจทย์ความสะดวกสบายในราคาย่อมเยาว์ และยังใกล้แหล่งธรรมชาติชั้นเลิศ รวมถึงน้ำตก Tad Fane และ Tad Yuang ที่น้ำใสเย็นและสูงตระการตา แนะนำให้เช่ามอเตอร์ไซค์ขับเอง เพราะจะคล่องตัวและได้ชมวิวสองข้างทางอย่างเต็มที่ แวะคาเฟ่ร้าง CC 1971 Café เป็นจุดพักผ่อนและแชะภาพ สไตล์เก๋ที่หาไม่ได้บ่อยๆ ที่นี่ราคาน้ำและขนมไม่แพง เมื่อเทียบกับบรรยากาศที่ Unique สำหรับเรื่องอาหารและเครื่องดื่ม ที่ร้าน Luly lula Grill & Laofood ควรลองสั่งซิ้นดาด หรือหมูกระทะในแบบฉบับลาว พร้อมกับเครื่องดื่มมีฟองที่เป็นที่นิยม จะทำให้มื้อค่ำของคุณอร่อยและได้สัมผัสรสชาติท้องถิ่น ก่อนกลับไม่ควรพลาดขนมและกาแฟที่ Amor Cafe Paksé ร้านอาหารเช้าตกแต่งสวยและราคาย่อมเยาว์ พร้อมพนักงานบริการดีมาก ทำให้ทริปนี้ครบทั้งความอิ่มท้องและประทับใจ โดยรวมแล้วการเดินทางท่องเที่ยวลาวใต้ครั้งนี้ ถือเป็นทริปที่ผสมผสานธรรมชาติ วัฒนธรรม และไลฟ์สไตล์ที่น่าสนใจ เหมาะสำหรับคนที่อยากพักผ่อนในบรรยากาศสบายๆ พร้อมทั้งได้เรียนรู้และสัมผัสประสบการณ์ใหม่ ๆ ขอแนะนำว่าควรวางแผนล่วงหน้าและศึกษาข้อมูลสถานที่และวีซ่าให้ชัดเจนเพื่อทริปที่ราบรื่นและเต็มไปด้วยความทรงจำดีๆ
