AI says we’re unoriginal

Since the oracle purchase we have dealt with constant demonetizations for “unoriginal content” despite writing, recording, animating, and editing every single piece of content on this page ourselves. Now, they’ve decided to fully remove us from the creator rewards program which is super upsetting since we’ve spent the better part of 2 years building up our community here to over 500,000 of yall.

We’ve fought these in the past, but is seems to be a systemic issue as we’ve seen other animators dealing with the same exact problem this month (shoutout @Clover 🍀🐮 ). It looks like Oracle is using their incredible new AI to remove actual artists from this platform in one clean swipe.

Nothing like AI deciding what’s original

Catch us on literally any other platform ✌️

Read moreAs a fellow creator navigating the evolving landscape of AI content moderation, I can deeply relate to the frustration of being labeled 'unoriginal' despite genuine, hard work in producing unique content. The integration of AI in platforms like Oracle aims to streamline enforcement but often results in overreach, affecting many honest creators, especially animators who rely heavily on their originality. In my experience, maintaining clear documentation of your creative process—such as sketches, drafts, and timestamps—can be valuable when appealing demonetizations or removals. It not only demonstrates effort but also substantiates claims of originality against automated systems. Moreover, community solidarity plays a crucial role. Connecting with other affected creators, like @Clover mentioned in your post, helps to raise awareness about these systemic challenges. Collaboratively, creators can advocate for transparent AI guidelines and request human reviews in disputed cases. Lastly, diversifying your platform presence is a wise strategy. Since the article suggests moving to other platforms, it’s important to build audiences on multiple channels to mitigate the risk of policy changes on any single platform. This multi-platform approach also opens up additional monetization opportunities and reduces the impact of sudden demonetization. Ultimately, while AI can assist in managing vast online content, it lacks the nuance to fully appreciate human creativity, especially in animation where style and originality are paramount. Continuing to share insights and experiences within the creator community is vital to pushing for fairer AI policies that protect authentic artistic voices.
