An exhibition that explores feelings through short questions.

GROUNDCONTROL and MMAD MASS GALLERY opened the door to a world feeling that many people might not give it much time. At the I AM / I AM NOT? Artist Jirayu Koo's solo exhibition intended to invite viewers to explore the fragility of "existence" and "being" through short questions 💬 but leaving a long-lasting tremor like "Am I... or Am I Not?" questions that did not wait for answers, but were picked up as flashlights for us to see ourselves a little more clearly.

Inside the exhibition, artists take us back from the echoes of the outside world and slowly walk back into a quiet space inside ourselves, a space where doubts, insecurities, and sensitivities reveal a straightforward example: a sense of inability to hide, no matter how deeply we try to drown or keep it, it always follows us, not as a burden, but as part of a real life.

The works on display this time are therefore like records of the artist's state of mind, 🎨 some are full of life, some are silently shaken, all are traces of the movement between fear and understanding, not of struggle, but of finding a way to cooperate with those feelings as companions that cannot be avoided, but may live together forever.

Interestingly, during the creation of the work, artists listened to Super Furry Animals' Juxtapozed With U, duets were in the middle of working on this series, 🎶 and the messages in songs like "You've got to tolerate all those people that you hate" became an echo of that feeling.

In the end, I AM / I AM NOT? does not try to define who's identity. It does not conclude what it should or should not be, but it opens up a space between confidence and hesitation. Between acceptance and resistance. Between what we see clearly and what we don't dare to look at directly. And there it is, where vulnerability reveals itself most sincerely.

So this exhibition works like a dialogue between the artist and himself, through colors, lines, sounds, and atmospheres that gently surround us. It's a space where instability has its place without apologizing to anyone, and it's an opportunity for viewers to quietly revisit their own feelings in a way that might not have been done in a long time.
