I will be posting my prop firm journey here. Currently i am on my eval accounts. Halfway through to passing my account. Will be posting regularly here. Follow me to see more.
Embarking on a prop firm trading journey is both thrilling and challenging. From my experience, consistency and discipline play crucial roles while working through eval accounts. Evaluations typically require meeting specific profit targets without exceeding drawdown limits, which means every trade counts. One thing I've learned is the value of closely monitoring multiple timeframes to spot viable trading opportunities. For instance, using a combination of 15-minute, 30-minute, 1-hour, and 4-hour charts helps me gauge market momentum and identify entry and exit points with better precision. Platforms like Tradovate offer versatile charting tools and real-time order execution that enhance trade management. Tracking performance metrics such as open Profit & Loss, drawdown levels, and position sizing is essential. These indicators ensure I stay within the firm's risk parameters while maximizing profits. It's helpful to keep a trading journal documenting each trade’s rationale, outcome, and emotional state, which supports continuous improvement. Another tip is to stay patient and avoid overtrading during evaluation. Meeting the account target steadily is often preferable to taking unnecessary risks that might lead to premature failure. Managing emotions during drawdown periods can be tough, but disciplined adherence to your trading strategy usually yields better longer-term results. Overall, sharing my journey publicly motivates me to maintain accountability and engage with a community of traders pursuing similar goals. I recommend other aspiring prop firm traders to leverage educational resources, practice on demo accounts, and gradually transition to live funds with careful risk management. Consistent progress on eval accounts is a significant milestone and opens doors to professional trading opportunities.
