August Wrap Up

... Read moreAugust was such a fantastic reading month for me, and I'm still buzzing from all the incredible stories I got to experience! It's always a joy to look back and see how many wonderful books I managed to fit in, especially when a few of them turn out to be absolute 5-star reads. There's nothing quite like that feeling of finishing a book that just completely captivates you. I know many of us are always on the hunt for our next great read, and finding books that truly resonate can sometimes be a challenge. If you're wondering how I discover my next reads – and yes, sometimes even snag some for free or super cheap – here are my go-to methods. I love browsing platforms like Lemon8 for recommendations, but I also rely heavily on my local library's digital apps like Libby and Hoopla. They're amazing for borrowing ebooks and audiobooks without spending a dime, which is perfect when you're trying to explore new authors or genres like romancebooks and romantasy without breaking the bank. I also follow a bunch of book reviewers on social media; their enthusiasm is contagious and often points me towards hidden gems or popular titles like those by Emily Henry and Dannika Dark. Speaking of amazing reads, my August wrap-up was truly stacked! I managed to get through quite a stack of books, and I wanted to highlight a few that really stood out. 'The Final Rose' was such a heartwarming romance that left me smiling. Then there was 'Capitana,' which swept me away on an adventurous journey with its captivating protagonist. I also really enjoyed 'Between the Pines' for its cozy vibes and 'In Good Company' for its delightful story. For anyone into something a bit darker, 'Song of Death' was a thrilling ride, and 'Embers in the Snow' offered a truly immersive fantasy world. Not forgetting 'A Treachery of Swans' – another fantastic fantasy read that kept me hooked! To help you get through your own reading goals, here are a few tips that have helped me: I always try to carry a book with me, whether it's a physical copy or on my phone, so I can sneak in a few pages whenever I have a spare moment. Setting a small, achievable reading goal each month, like 2-3 books, can also be really motivating. And don't underestimate the power of audiobooks for multitasking! I listen to them while I'm doing chores or commuting, and it's a game-changer for boosting my book count. Creating a cozy reading nook, even if it's just a comfy chair and a warm blanket, can also make reading feel like a special treat. I'm so curious to hear about your August reads! Did you find any 5-star books or discover a new favorite author? Share your thoughts and recommendations below – I'm always looking for my next adventure between the pages!
