Really enjoyed the story, I immediately added more of Elsie Silver's books to my TBR while I was reading this. The banter between Ford and Rosie was great (especially the emails). Rosie was great overall, and I love how she always had Ford's back. She did frustrate me a few times in this book with how in denial she was about their whole relationship since childhood. I loved how Ford was throughout the book, especially his petty side (curious how that all worked out for him). I really liked this play on how Ford was a single dad; I thought it was on the unique side. I loved Cora and consistently forgot her age because of what she said and how she acted most of the time. I would love to read more about her. Needless to say, I can't wait to continue the series.
Side note: I really loved that there was a map included in the book.
"Because as much as I don’t need a knight in shining armor to defend my honor, I’m relieved I have one who feels compelled to do so. "
"I want a wild love....I want this feeling I have with you where it hurts to breathe when you get too far away, where my skin itches uncontrollably when you look at me. Where thinking feels overrated because we both know nothing and no one will ever feel like this. Like us. "
"If I could build you a boyfriend like a Build-A-Bear, he would come out as Ford Grant. "
... Read moreReading 'Wild Love' by Elsie Silver was a refreshing dive into the billionaire romance genre that I often enjoy, but this book stood out because of its relatable characters and their genuine interactions. The playful emails between Ford and Rosie added a unique flavor to their relationship, bringing humor and emotional depth that kept me hooked.
One thing that fascinated me was how the author portrayed Ford as a single dad—a dimension not commonly explored in many romance novels. His struggles and tenderness felt authentic, and it made the romance more grounded and touching. I can relate to how balancing personal life and parenthood complicates relationships, which made Ford's character even more compelling.
Rosie's constant denial about their childhood connection was frustrating at times but realistically portrayed the complexities of long-term relationships evolving into something more. It reminded me of how sometimes emotional barriers can get in the way of happiness, a theme that resonated deeply with me.
I also appreciated the inclusion of a map in the book, which enhanced my reading experience by visualizing the setting. Small details like this can make a story more immersive.
The book's mix of tropes—brother's best friend, grumpy x sunshine, forced proximity, and workplace romance—felt fresh thanks to the dynamic between the characters and Ele Silver's engaging writing style. It’s rare to find a book that mixes these elements so well without becoming cliché.
Overall, 'Wild Love' is a must-read for fans of contemporary romance looking for a heartfelt, witty, and well-rounded story. The 4.25 out of 5 stars rating truly reflects a satisfying reading journey with memorable characters who stay with you long after the last page.
