... Read moreHey fellow Brawlers! I wanted to share some of my absolute favorite teamwork tips for Gem Grab. We all know how frustrating it can be when your team isn't on the same page, right? But after countless matches, I've really nailed down what makes a squad unstoppable, especially when those crucial gems start popping up!
First off, clear roles are a game-changer. My team always tries to have a dedicated 'Gem Carrier' – usually a Brawler who's good at surviving, like a tank or someone with a shield gadget. Their job isn't to get kills, but to collect that glowing green object – the gems! Then we have our 'Aggro' Brawlers, who push lanes and apply pressure, like that character with the hat and green slime dripping from the image, perhaps a Shelly or an El Primo. They draw fire away from the Gem Carrier. Finally, the 'Support' or 'Control' Brawlers, possibly like the one with the red hood, keep enemies at bay, protect the carrier, or break walls to open up the map.
Controlling the middle is paramount. It's where the gems spawn! My team focuses on pushing into the enemy's side of the mine to control the flow of gems. If we can deny the enemy access, we're halfway to victory. It’s not just about getting kills, but about creating space for your gem carrier to safely pick up the gems and retreat.
Gem management is where teamwork truly shines. If our Gem Carrier has 7+ gems, the priority shifts from offense to defense. We retreat together, forming a protective shield around them. It's like the moment depicted in the image, where two characters seem to be strategizing around a precious item. If an enemy pushes, our Aggro Brawler might step in to intercept, while our Support Brawler lays down suppressing fire. Never trickle in one by one when defending a gem lead – always group up and defend your carrier! Conversely, if the enemy has a gem lead, focus fire on their carrier. Sometimes, it’s worth sacrificing a bit of health or even a super to take them down and reset the gem count.
Another pro-tip: coordinate your Supers! Imagine a Frank stunning multiple enemies while a Piper snipes them from afar, or a Gene pulling an enemy into a prepared ambush from your heavy-hitter. These big plays turn the tide and are often the result of knowing your teammates' abilities and planning ahead. A well-timed Super can secure a gem lead or break an enemy push.
Even without voice chat, you can communicate through pings and understanding your teammates' tendencies. If I see my Gem Carrier falling back, I know to cover them. If an attacker is pushing our side, I try to pinch them with a teammate. It's all about anticipating and reacting as a unit. Observation of your teammates’ movements and anticipating their next move is crucial for fluid teamwork.
Mastering teamwork in Gem Grab isn't just about individual skill; it's about synergy. By assigning roles, controlling the map, managing gems smartly, and coordinating Supers, you'll be racking up wins in no time. Give these strategies a try with your friends, and let's dominate the arena!
