Less is more or More is Less?

“More Is Less”

The louder we chase, the less we hear,

The fuller the hands, the more unclear.

When greed paints gold on every door,

We lose the heart of what we’re for.

More words can drown the truth we seek,

More pride can make the spirit weak.

In wanting all, we often confess—

That gaining more can leave us less.

“Less Is More”

In the quiet, beauty grows,

Where clutter fades and stillness flows.

A single word can touch the soul,

A gentle act can make us whole.

Not every light must brightly burn,

Not every path needs a sharp return.

In simple things, our hearts can soar—

For peace begins when less is more.

Me: More stacking???

Stacked with meaning, not excess,

Each piece refines, not tries to impress.

Elegance isn’t loud— it’s finesse.

More layers, yet never loud,

Each ring whispers, soft and proud.

Together they shine, not to impress —

But to remind, that more can still be less. 🫰🏻

... Read moreReflecting on the poem's core message, I've come to realize how often modern life pulls us toward accumulating more—more possessions, more noise, more distractions. Yet, each time I try to simplify, I find that less truly can be more. For example, decluttering my home not only made my space more inviting but also calmed my mind, helping me focus better on what truly matters. In personal experiences, I've learned that 'more' stacked with meaning—whether in relationships, choices, or even accessories—brings richness without overwhelming. Just like the poem mentions 'stacked with meaning, not excess,' this approach fosters authenticity and subtle elegance in living. Also, the idea that 'more words can drown the truth we seek' resonates deeply. I’ve noticed that in conversations, sometimes fewer, carefully chosen words carry more impact, allowing clarity and connection to emerge naturally. Embracing this balance requires mindfulness: recognizing when additional layers add value versus when they merely clutter. Incorporating moments of stillness and appreciating simplicity have enhanced my creativity and mental well-being over time. Ultimately, this thoughtful balance encourages us to be intentional about what we welcome into our lives, reminding us that peace begins when less truly is more.

more of ‘thank you’ & less of ‘sorry’
sometimes, it’s not about apologising for existing, for having needs, for wanting connection. it’s about recognising that i am important and there are kindness from the people around me. it’s learning to shift from “i’m a burden” to “i’m thankful you’re here.” here’s to speaking more thank-y

We took our very first PWS for our vow renewal 🥹🤍 Ten years ago, we only had a simple solemnisation with close friends and family. No gown, just a fluffy dress trying to hide my baby bump back then. 🥲 Not gonna lie, trying on a wedding gown for the first time in my life made me a little emoti
