Really I am

Many people find that once others look past their initial hesitations or use of dark humor and sarcasm, they see a truly delightful and genuine side emerge. From my own experience, humor—especially the kind that’s a bit dark or sarcastic—has often been a way to cope with anxiety or discomfort in social settings. While it might seem off-putting at first, it can serve as an icebreaker once people understand your point of view. The key is to balance this humor with openness and vulnerability, allowing others to see your warmth and kindness. Practice self-compassion and allow yourself to be patient as you navigate social interactions. Remember that everyone has unique traits, and your quirks can become your strengths when embraced. Engaging in mindfulness or journaling can also help unpack emotions behind anxiety and improve self-awareness. Through genuine connections, you can find understanding and acceptance. Many have found that once they accept their own complex personality—including the mix of anxiety, awkwardness, and humor—they are able to thrive socially and personally. You’re more than your anxieties or sarcastic remarks; you’re a delightful person worth knowing deeply.
