Cozumel, Mexico | Cruise Port Ideas
Fun things to do in Cozumel!
One of my favorite cruise ports for so many reasons. My free suggestions are on the last slide. There are many fun excursions to do in Cozumel, but I feel Chankanaab National Park encompasses many and makes it a one stop shop.

Cozumel offers an incredible mix of natural beauty, adventure, and local culture that makes it a favorite port for many cruise travelers like myself. One of the best ways I’ve found to explore the island without much pre-planning is by renting a moped right off the cruise port. It’s affordable—usually not more than $50 a day—and provides you the freedom to tour the island at your own pace. The roads are generally easy to navigate, and it’s a great way to see hidden beaches and small local eateries. If you prefer a more organized experience, I highly recommend visiting Chankanaab National Park. This spot truly has something for everyone with its beautiful pools, beaches, bars, and shops. Many cruise lines offer excursions here, making it simple to get to and enjoy diverse activities like snorkeling, wildlife viewing, and tasting local dishes, all in one place. It’s definitely a one-stop shop for fun island experiences. For those on a budget or wanting to enjoy Cozumel without spending extra, the local beaches such as Playa Casitas provide free shore access. The area near the port often features live music and entertainment, giving visitors a glimpse of local life and culture. Strolling through nearby markets and vendor stalls is also a lively and affordable way to soak up the island vibe. Most shops near the port allow bargaining, so it’s possible to find great souvenirs without paying full price. Finally, if you’re looking for a casual hangout with a fun atmosphere, Senor Frogs near the port is the spot. While the drinks aren’t top-notch, the lively vibes more than make up for it, especially on weekdays when it’s less crowded. Overall, Cozumel blends convenience, adventure, and relaxation perfectly, whether you choose to plan excursions or just enjoy exploring on your own. Every visit leaves me excited to return and discover even more.
