Labubu or Lafoodfood?? 🤭
How many Labubus do you have?? Always sold out on Popmart app so I made one with a banana 🍌 what do you think??
If you're like me, you've probably fallen head over heels for Labubu and the entire mischievous crew from 'The Monsters' series. Created by the incredibly talented artist Kasing Lung, these designer toys have taken the collectible world by storm. Their expressive faces, often with those iconic sharp teeth and playful eyes, just have a way of capturing your heart. Every time a new series or collaboration drops, I find myself glued to the Pop Mart app, desperately trying to snag one of these adorable creatures. But let's be real, the struggle is SO real! It feels like Labubu figures are perpetually sold out the moment they're released. Whether it’s a limited edition blind box or a special collaboration, the demand is incredibly high, and they vanish from digital shelves in mere seconds. I've set alarms, refreshed my browser countless times, and even dragged myself to physical stores on release days, only to be met with the dreaded 'Sold Out' sign. It can be super frustrating when you just want to add one more precious monster to your collection! That constant sold-out situation is precisely what inspired me to get creative and craft my own Labubu out of a banana – a true 'Lafoodfood' masterpiece! Seriously, when you can't buy them, why not make them? DIY projects can be such a satisfying alternative. You could use polymer clay, air-dry clay, or even draw or paint your own Labubu fan art. It’s a wonderful way to channel your fandom and create something uniquely yours, without the stress of competing with thousands of other collectors or paying exorbitant re-seller prices. Beyond DIY, I've found a lot of joy in connecting with the wider Labubu and designer toy community. There are so many enthusiasts online who share tips on upcoming drops, show off their incredible collections, and even trade or sell at fair prices. Joining these groups can provide a sense of camaraderie in the face of the 'sold out' dilemma. Sometimes, just seeing another collector's amazing display or their custom-painted Labubu can be just as inspiring as owning one yourself. And if Labubu sparked your interest in designer toys, there’s a whole universe to explore! Artists like Kenny Wong (Molly), Ayan Ding (Dimoo), and countless independent creators produce equally captivating figures. Each artist has a distinct style, and diving into their worlds can introduce you to new favorites and diversify your collection. It’s all part of the fun of collecting – discovering new art and connecting with the stories behind the characters. So, don't let the scarcity of official drops dim your enthusiasm; there are always creative ways to celebrate your love for Labubu and the magic of art toys!
