just a few views from my summer ft las vegas & palm springs
HELLO®SUMMER! After sharing those initial glimpses of my incredible SUMMER TIME adventure in Las Vegas and Palm Springs, I realized I had so much more to tell you about making the most of these vibrant destinations. If you're dreaming of a bucket-list getaway filled with unique experiences and stunning outdoor views, these two spots really deliver, even during the warmer months! Let's talk about Las Vegas first. While the Strip is iconic, I found some of the most unforgettable moments just a short drive away. For anyone seeking outdoor beauty, Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area is an absolute must-see. The vibrant red rock formations are breathtaking, and it offers incredible hiking trails for all skill levels. Just remember to go early in the morning during summer to beat the heat! It truly feels like a different world compared to the buzzing city. Another fantastic day trip that combines history with awe-inspiring engineering is the Hoover Dam. Standing there, overlooking the Colorado River, you get a real sense of scale and accomplishment. It’s definitely one of those iconic stops that makes you appreciate the ingenuity of humankind, and the views are just spectacular. For something truly unique right in the city but off the main Strip, exploring the Fremont Street Experience downtown offers a different kind of energy with its dazzling light show, street performers, and old-school Vegas vibe. Then, we journeyed to Palm Springs, a desert oasis that stole my heart. This place is all about stylish relaxation and stunning natural backdrops. One of my absolute favorite outdoor experiences was taking the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway. It takes you from the desert floor up to the wilderness of Mount San Jacinto State Park, where the temperatures are significantly cooler, and the panoramic views are simply out of this world. You can hike around up there or simply enjoy the fresh air and incredible vistas – a perfect escape from the summer heat. And if you're like me and appreciate unique architecture, Palm Springs is a treasure trove of mid-century modern design. Taking a self-guided tour or even just driving around the neighborhoods to admire the distinctive homes is a wonderful way to soak in the area's unique character. Of course, a trip to Palm Springs wouldn't be complete without plenty of poolside lounging. Many resorts offer incredible pool scenes, perfect for unwinding after a day of exploration. For an even grander outdoor adventure, consider a day trip to Joshua Tree National Park. It’s manageable from Palm Springs and offers a completely different kind of desert landscape with its unique trees and rock formations – truly a bucket-list national park experience. Whether you're looking for vibrant city life, serene desert landscapes, or adventurous hikes, Las Vegas and Palm Springs in the summer offer a unique blend of experiences. Just remember to stay hydrated, wear sunscreen, and embrace the warmth. This trip was a fantastic blend of relaxation and exploration, and I hope my extended tips help you plan your own unforgettable summer escape!
