me & the moon ☾

making the decision to set aside time once a month to honor the moon, hekate, my practice, etc has genuinely had such a ripple effect with everything. i started doing a small new moon offering/ ritual every month even though it felt a bit awkward and foreign at first- now little things like pulling a daily tarot here and there feel way more natural. i find myself doing little spells here and there. journaling. learning. reading. and even if i go all month without doing anything, the new moon is there at the end to remind me to reconnect myself with her !! if i could give any advice to someone wanting to feel closer to their practice, it’s to set aside time just once a month (maybe pick your favorite moon phase or number date) to sit down and honor the part of yourself that is a witch. it’s so lovely and it keeps you close to yourself and the universe around you !! my offering is usually just bread and honey, maybe more or less depending on what the night has brought. it doesn’t have to be complicated and what started as a gift for hekate and the moon ended up being a gift to myself as well 🫶

... Read moreI used to chase big spiritual moments, thinking I needed elaborate ceremonies to feel truly connected. But it was the consistent, gentle rhythm of monthly moon rituals that truly transformed my spiritual path. If you're feeling a call to connect more deeply with yourself and the universe, let me share why these practices are so profound and how they've helped me 'ascend to the blue sky' of self-awareness and embrace the 'bright moon' of inner wisdom. There's something incredibly magical about aligning your personal energy with the moon's cycles. It's not just about worshipping; it's about creating a dedicated time to check in with *yourself*. For me, it became a sacred compass, guiding me back to my truth each month. It's a time for introspection, setting intentions, and gracefully releasing what no longer serves me. These 'monthly rituals' have become my anchor, fostering self-care, intuition, and a deep connection to the cosmic dance. You don't need much to begin your own lunar journey! I love setting up a little altar space, even if it's just a corner of my desk. Think about a few simple items that resonate with you: a candle for illumination and intention, your favorite tarot cards for guidance, maybe a cherished crystal or two to amplify energy, and even a lovely moon-themed painting or image to focus your gaze. These small touches create a sacred atmosphere that helps me drop into the moment. While my journey started specifically with the New Moon, every lunar phase offers unique energy for your rituals. For a New Moon, I focus on planting seeds for new beginnings, setting fresh intentions, and dreaming big. For a Full Moon, it's about gratitude, celebrating what has manifested, and releasing anything that holds me back. During a ritual, I might light my candle, journal about my desires or reflections, pull a tarot card for insight into challenges or opportunities, or simply meditate in the moonlight. Even a few minutes of quiet contemplation can be incredibly powerful. Sometimes, I simply sit, watching the moon, and feel its ancient, nurturing energy wash over me. My go-to offering is simple bread and honey, a humble nod to ancient traditions and a way to honor deities like Hekate, who guides me through transitions and crossroads. But your offering can be anything from a cup of herbal tea, a fresh flower, a piece of fruit, or even a heartfelt poem written in your journal. The key is intention, gratitude, and a willingness to open a dialogue with the universe. It’s about creating an energetic exchange and truly embracing that 'bright moon' connection. The beauty of these monthly check-ins is their ripple effect throughout my daily life. I find myself more attuned to my intuition, more confident in my daily tarot pulls, and even inspired to learn and read more about my practice. It's not about being perfect or performing elaborate ceremonies; it's about consistently showing up for yourself, allowing these 'monthly rituals' to become a cherished gift that keeps on giving. It’s truly helped me feel more connected, grounded, and magical.
