最近「爪を丈夫にする方法」を調べていて気づいたのが、補強剤や爪保護マニキュアを塗る前に“爪を傷める動作を減らす”のがいちばん効く、ということでした。私もセルフネイル派で、爪補強コート（メンソレータム系など）やネイルカバーが気になって色々試しましたが、結局は「剥がれる」「先端だけ欠ける」が起きやすいのって、生活の中で爪先を道具代わりにしている瞬間があるからなんですよね。 まず、爪保護マニキュア／爪補強コートの使い方で意識しているのは3つです。①油分オフ：塗る前に手を洗ってよく乾かし、爪表面の油分を軽く落としてから塗ると密着が上がりやすい。②先端の“エッジ”を必ず塗る：爪の先端（断面）まで薄くなぞるだけで、剥がれる・欠けるが減りました。③厚塗りしない：早く強くしたくて重ねすぎると、硬化（乾燥）にムラが出て逆に浮きやすいことがあって、私は薄塗りで2回までが安定でした。 それでも「メンソレータム 爪補強コートが剥がれる」と感じるときは、バスタイムが盲点になりがち。爪は水分を吸収してふやけるので、お風呂上がり直後に缶を開けたり、シールを爪でカリカリしたりすると一気にダメージが出ます。私はここを変えるために、シルク100%のボディミトンを取り入れました。肌当たりがやさしくて、爪先を立てずに洗えるのが想像以上に快適。敏感肌の家族にも使いやすく、バスタイムの“爪事故”が減りました。 次に、爪を守る便利グッズとしておすすめなのが、缶を開けるときのバターナイフ。スプーンだと浅くしか入らず途中で爪を使いがちだけど、バターナイフだともう一段深く差し込めて、爪先を使わずに済みました。さらに紙パックの注ぎ口や缶詰などは、専用の缶切り（オープナー）を置いておくと最強です。「爪ケア用品」ってオイルや補強剤だけじゃなく、こういう“爪を使わないための道具”も立派なケアだと思います。 育爪やハイポニキウムを育てたい人ほど、爪先を道具にしないのが近道。補強剤や爪保護ネイルはあくまでサポートで、日常動作の見直し＋バスタイム対策（ふやけ対策）をセットにすると、ネイルの持ちも本当に変わりました。
