How to feel comfortable during “bikini season”

1. Wear something you feel comfortable in

You don’t need to wear trendy outfits and styles. Wear what you want!

2. Eat consistently throughout the day

Not eating before you go out will not help! You are already affecting your mental health by fixating on your body and not eating. Also, you just generally will not feel your best if you have low blood sugar from not eating.

3. Stay Grounded (wear sunscreen, drink water, bring headphones, pack a book, etc.)

Bring things that help you in situations where you get overwhelmed.

4. Understand feeling bloated or puffy in the heat is normal

Your blood vessels expand in the heat to help you cool down. So no! You haven’t gained weight!

Closing this out, you tend to be your own harshest critic, not anyone else. So if someone says something to make you feel bad, then think about how they may be treating themselves (likely worse). Finally, remember that everyone has a bikini body!

Eating regular meals not only fuels your body but also boosts your mood and energy levels. Stay hydrated and protect your skin with sunscreen to enjoy your days at the beach or pool without worry. Familiarizing yourself with the normal physiological changes your body experiences in heat, like temporary bloating, can help minimize anxiety and build self-acceptance. Lastly, foster a positive mindset by reminding yourself that everyone has their insecurities, and embracing your unique body is a celebration of self-love. Embrace the season confidently! Feel free to share your experiences and tips with hashtags like #bikiniseason and #summerbod.
