11 mile trail run
I miss the summer so much! #run #running #runner #runningoutfits #trail
Trail running is such a unique experience compared to road running, especially when covering a distance like 11 miles. One thing I’ve learned is that having the right trail running shoes can make a huge difference. Shoes with good traction and support help you handle uneven surfaces and reduce the risk of injury. Another aspect to consider is pacing. Trail terrain often varies with hills, roots, and rocks, so it’s important to adjust your pace accordingly rather than trying to keep the same speed throughout. This approach helps conserve energy and prevents burnout. For nutrition, I always bring a hydration pack or bottles and some energy gels or snacks to keep me fueled during longer runs. Staying hydrated and energized is key when running for over an hour. I also love running in the cooler parts of the day during summer, like early morning or late afternoon, to avoid heat exhaustion. Plus, the trails are usually quieter then, providing a more peaceful experience. Lastly, embracing the scenery and sounds of nature makes trail running rewarding beyond just the workout. The mental break and connection with nature can be uplifting, and it’s a big part of why I miss summer running so much!
