Nutrition during ultras is crucial; I personally rely on energy gels, real food snacks like bananas, and plenty of electrolytes to keep going. Road running remains a staple for speed and consistency. To improve, mix in interval training and tempo runs. Proper footwear for your gait and foot type helps prevent common injuries. Remember, whether you’re a trail, ultra, or road runner, rest days and recovery protocols are just as important as your runs. Sharing your running journey with communities, either online or local running groups, can provide motivation and valuable support. Each running style offers its own benefits and challenges, and blending them can lead to improved fitness, mental toughness, and enjoyment on every run.
