made today just a little better 🤍🎮

i got home from work and heard

“she’s sleeping… you can play your game”

and honestly?? that alone felt like a reset 😌

this past week has been a little rough

but things are finally starting to level out

pumping is getting better

we’re finding our rhythm with daycare drop off + house duties

and slowly… we’re making space for us again

as parents and as a couple

some days it’s messy

some days it’s small wins like this

and today, i’ll take it 🤍

The moment when you finally hear "she’s sleeping… you can play your game" feels like a rare gift. It’s these simple pauses that help us catch our breath and regain a sense of control. Finding balance after having a baby is often described as messy — and it really is! Between pumping sessions, daycare drop-offs, managing house chores, and trying to nurture your relationship with your partner, the days can feel overwhelming. But it’s the slow progress and small wins, such as establishing a rhythm with daily routines, that build momentum. In my experience, being kind and patient with yourself is crucial. You’re not just a mom — you’re also a partner, a professional, and an individual with needs. Carving out “us time” as a couple may seem impossible some days, but even brief moments of connection can strengthen your bond. Postpartum life isn’t linear. Some days are harder, but leaning on your support system and celebrating little breakthroughs allows you to keep moving forward. Whether it’s an uninterrupted game, a peaceful afternoon nap, or simply a feeling of better control over pumping, these moments help reclaim parts of your identity beyond motherhood. Remember that these experiences are shared by many working moms balancing breastfeeding, childcare, and marital life. You aren’t alone in navigating this transition, and embracing the imperfect rhythm of daily life can ultimately lead to a richer, more fulfilling journey.
