For me, a typical week often includes rigorous vocal warm-ups every morning, even on my 'off' days, to keep my voice in top shape. I also spend countless hours rehearsing with my incredible band, Sonora de Los Angeles, perfecting harmonies, tightening up arrangements, and ensuring our stage presence is electrifying. It’s a true collaboration, where every musician brings their unique talent to create something truly special, and honestly, sharing the stage with such talented individuals makes every gig an absolute joy. We push each other to be better, and that camaraderie is priceless. And yes, being a mom singer means juggling a lot! My little one, my 'chiquitin,' often comes along to rehearsals, soundchecks, or even waits backstage when possible. It's not always easy, finding childcare or managing schedules, but seeing him watch me do what I love fuels my fire even more. It’s about finding that delicate balance between my passion and my most important role as a mother, and having an amazing support system – my family and my bandmates – makes all the difference. Their understanding and encouragement are invaluable. For any aspiring singers out there, especially fellow moms dreaming of a career in music, my biggest advice is to never give up on your passion. Talent is important, but perseverance is key. Invest in vocal coaching to refine your technique and expand your range. Some days are packed with multiple gigs, traveling between venues, while others are spent on songwriting, administrative tasks, or promoting our next show. But every single day brings me closer to my dream of sharing music that touches people's hearts and makes them want to dance.
