These basic exercises have been my holy grail throughout my pregnancy this time and last ! And they worked !! Also no shame in the package butt game (embrace it if you could care less).lol but ultimately, strong legs equal less back pain for me so it’s a win win ! #pregnancyworkout #pregnancylegday #workingoutpregnant #nomombutt #17weekspregnant @lululemon
Throughout my pregnancy journey, I found that focusing on leg strength not only helped me manage back pain but also improved my overall mobility. Gravity during pregnancy tends to shift and put pressure on the lower body, which can lead to discomfort and a change in posture often referred to as the 'mom butt'. Incorporating slow and controlled glute squeezes into my routine helped correct this while maintaining comfort. Using light dumbbells and barbell exercises tailored for pregnancy made a huge difference for me. I emphasized exercises that promote glute activation while avoiding overstraining the body, especially in the mornings when discomfort can be more intense. Consistency is key—I usually aimed to complete reps gradually, focusing on form rather than speed. Listening to your body is crucial. If any exercise causes hitching or sharp pain, it’s important to stop and adjust. Many pregnant women underestimate the benefits of strengthening their legs and glutes as it helps counterbalance the pressure caused by the baby’s growing weight. In addition to physical benefits, maintaining this routine helped me feel empowered and more in tune with my changing body. Embracing changes like the 'mom butt' was liberating; I learned it’s not about perfection but about health and comfort during an amazing yet challenging time. These basics proved to be my holy grail workouts during both my pregnancies, and I recommend anyone pregnant to give them a try with their healthcare provider’s guidance.
