Part. 1
Core memory for sure 🤣❤️
You know, sometimes the most unforgettable travel memories aren't the planned excursions, but the totally unexpected moments. Like that one time in Cozumel, when boredom led to a hilarious, impromptu funeral for a bug we affectionately named Timothy! Seriously, it was a 'core memory' for sure, and we still laugh about him just flying into my chair, sparking a whole dramatic saga, and debating whether to 'throw him in the ocean' or give him a proper burial. It just goes to show, even when you're 'bored a f in Cozumel,' adventure can find you! But beyond accidental insect encounters, Cozumel is absolutely packed with incredible experiences that are definitely on the list of 'fun things to do.' If you're heading there, you absolutely have to explore the underwater world. Snorkeling or diving in Palancar Reef is breathtaking – the visibility is usually crystal clear, and you'll see so many colorful fish, turtles, and vibrant coral. It's truly like swimming in an aquarium! Even if you've never dived before, there are fantastic introductory courses. For beach lovers, Playa Palancar and Paradise Beach offer soft sands and calm turquoise waters perfect for relaxing. Rent a jet ski, try paddleboarding, or just soak up the sun with a good book. And if you're looking for something a bit more active on land, renting a scooter or a jeep to explore the undeveloped east side of the island is a blast. You'll find rustic beach bars, stunning natural blowholes, and a completely different vibe away from the bustling cruise ship ports. Don't forget to wander through San Miguel, Cozumel's main town. It's charming with colorful buildings, local shops selling handicrafts, and fantastic restaurants. I always look for the small, family-run eateries for authentic Mexican food – the cochinita pibil tacos are a must-try! And if you're into history, the San Gervasio Mayan ruins offer a glimpse into the island's ancient past. It's not as grand as Chichen Itza, but it's a peaceful and insightful visit. So, whether your Cozumel trip involves majestic marine life, serene beaches, cultural exploration, or even a spontaneous, comical moment with a tiny creature like our dear Timothy, you're guaranteed to make some incredible memories. Embrace the unexpected, and Cozumel will surely deliver an adventure!
